Pure Morning Pt.1 (Audio CD),31 July, 1998
List price $11.99
first single from WYIN / 5
The first single from the breakthrough album Without You I'm Nothing. Despite the success of Nancy Boy, Placebo didn't really break through onto radio playlists worldwide until this release. Pure Morning is a great song and a perfect decision as a first release. Backed by the cheeky french song 'Mars Landing Party' and the typical placebo instrumental 'Leeloo', it set the tone for what the world expected from Placebo, great singles in their own unique style.
Song "Twenty Years"
There are twenty years to go
and twenty years to know who will wear the hat.
There are twenty years to go,
the best of all i hope.
Enjoy the ride, the medicine show.
And thems the breaks for we designer fakes.
We need to concentrate on more then meets the eye.
There are twenty years to go,
the faithful and the low.
The best of starts, the broken heart, the stone.
There are twenty years the go,
the punch drunk and the blow.
The worst of starts, the mercy part, the phone.
And thems the breaks for we designer fakes.
We need to concentrate on more then meets the eye.
And thems the breaks for we designer fakes.
But it's you I take 'cause your the truth not I.
There are twenty years to go.
A golden age I know.
But all will pass, will end to fast, you know.
There are twenty years to go,
and many friends I hope.
Though some may hold the rose some hold the rope.
And that's the end and that's the start of it.
That's the whole and that's the part of it.
That's the high and that's the heart of it.
That's the long and that's the short of it.
That's the best and that's the test in it.
That's the doubt, the doubt,
the trust in it.
That's the sight and that's the sound of it.
That's the gift and that's the trick in it.
You're the truth not I.

Jasmine Loucks ? Station! March 13, 2007 (Arcata Eye)
It?s always tough finding a fun all-ages event on St. Patty?s Day weekend. This year is no different; Saturday is sparse for events for those of us unable to drink. Friday on the other hand, seems to be a bit more fun.
Music Review: Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - Living With the Living (Blogcri...
Sound: Melodic punk with do-it-yourself passion, political conviction and a well-read vocabulary. As always, Ted and Company keep the spirit of The Clash, Elvis Costello and the Jam alive, but continue to carve out their own niche behind the strength of Ted?s powerful pipes ? which can slice and jab or sweetly croon ? his ideological poetry and the band?s well-rounded, top-shelf, and ...
Music Review: Staind - 1996-2006: The Singles (Blogcritics.org)
Here in the New York City area, there?s a radio station that plays nothing but acoustic songs for four straight hours on Sunday mornings. Being an avid fan of all things live and acoustic, I love this show. Nowhere else on the dial will you hear unplugged versions of Fuel?s ?Hemorrhage? or Poison?s ?Unskinny Bop.? But by far my favorite songs are the rarely heard covers: John Mayer crooning ...

Black Sabbath is back, but without Ozzy (Denver Post)
A cursory survey of car commercials, Adult Swim cartoons and T-shirt racks proves how disturbingly full-circle heavy metal has come.
