Good Music, But Inessential / 3
Why was this released? It's pretty stupid; they just released The Ultimate Collection, which had pretty damn near close to perfect collection of singles. Some of the production and mixing was off, but it was still good. This is the sort of thing, this CD that tarnishes what is an amazing legacy. The Who, I believe, have a record for most greatest hits recordings of all time. If they want to have product on the market, why not release some of their amazing live work from the 60's and 70's instead of repackaging the same old, yet amazing, hits?
Oh because they recorded two new songs that's why! They're good songs; honestly, the best songs Pete has written since White City, as Iron Man and Psychoderleict were alarmingly weak. Not that they're among his best songs, but at least they aren't awful. If the new album has songs as strong, or stronger, and hopefully with some more variety (the songs sound a bit the same) it should be a good return to form. Here's to the future! Don't buy this.
