A fantastic album from a great band / 4
It is a tragedy to compare quickspace to stereolab. It's also incorrect. Stereolab, by and large, are imitators, whereas Quickspace actually bring their own idiosyncracies and originality to this album, and a lot of their other material. This is probably their most consistent album. Particular highlights for me include quasi-pfaff, song for someone and (on the US version only) the original single version of friend. If you like this stuff, hunt down the Superplus EP, as it's still their most determined and original piece. For me, one of the few bands around able to take the Krautrock sound and twist it into a new shape.
