MORE RUTLES, PLEASE (but only the music) / 5
In another review, I summarily dismissed the RUTLES 2 DVD because, well, it sucked. The CD output, however, is always brilliant. This is probably due to the genius of Neil Innes, and he needs to keep the Rutles flame burning bright. Somehow, Innes manages to channel the best intentions and the best chops of the Beatles, as well as injecting a goodly amount of humor into every verse. I shant go through the songs one by one (others have done well by that method already...keep reading the reviews), but I think I should say that this is more than a parody. I challenge any listerner NOT to be singing along by the second spin of this disc. More Rutles, Neil...please. I'd settle for one CD every 5 years. But tell Eric to keep his HANDS OFF!
