It is always amazing to me how this band keeps maturing. This album is just a way-station toward even better, more elaborate, meaningful work. When last seen and heard, this bunch of brash and brawny souls were not only playing and singing their hearts out, but were playing guitars, drums, accordion, bouzouki, mandolin, banjo, piano, not to mention the pipes. All of it fitting. All of it on the money. And, listen to some of the lyrics; "Take it and Run" "Last Letter Home," "Green Fields of France." I mean, some of the best, most relevant stuff out there today. Goes far beyond the self-pitying emo, the trash of rap, the crap of hip-hop, not to mention the Pablum of most of the other "Top 40" stuff. No wonder the record industry is struggling to stay alive - pushing that kind of junk...
Song "Billy’s Bones"
Billy ran around with the rare old crew. And he knew an arsenal from Tottenham blue We'd be a darn sight better off if we knew where Billy's bones are resting now Billy saw a copper and he hit him in the knee Took him down from six foot to five foot three Then he hit him fair and square in the do-re-me That copper won't be having any family
Hey Billy son where are you now, don't you know that we Need you now With aratata and the old kow-tow where are Billy's bones Resting now
Billy went away with the peace keeping force 'cause he Liked a bloddy good fight of course Went away in an old khaki van to the banks of the river Jordan Billy saw the Arabs and he had'em on the run when he got'em In the range of his sub machine gun Then he got the Israelis in his sights, went ra-ta-ta And they ran like Shi-ites
Hey Billy Son where are you now, One night Billy had a rare old time, laughing and singing on The Lebanon line Came back to camp not looking too pretty never even got To see the Holy City
Now Billy's out there in the desert sun and his mother cries When the morning comes And there's mother's crying all over the world, for their poor Dead darling boys and girls Hey Billy son where are you now, Born on a Monday, married on a Tuesday, Drunk on a Wednesday, got plugged on a Thursday, sick on a Friday, Died on a Saturday, buried on Sunday

Murphys deliver roaring good time (Boston Globe)
As the Dropkick Murphys kicked off their eighth annual St. Patrick's Day concert/victory parade at Avalon on Friday, it started to become clear just how far the band has expanded beyond what it probably must have initially dreamed. The event sprawled across the entire weekend, with five shows in three days (including Saturday's arena gig at Agganis) that have been ...
No punch lines for boxer Ward (Boston Globe)
The crowd gathered for the charity breakfast concert at the IBEW Local 103's hall in Dorchester yesterday tried to persuade boxer "Irish" Micky Ward to tell a joke or sing a song. But the former champ declined, saying he was there to help the event's hosts -- the Dropkick Murphys and FM radio station WAAF -- raise money for My ...

?It?s St Paddy?s Day, everyone?s Irish tonight!? and so begins the scene from Boondocks Saints in which our two heroes then commence to kick the holy shit out of some Russian Mafia thugs. As we draw closer and closer to my favorite holiday of the year, everyone is indeed Irish. The time to celebrate is now (I like to start this party as early as possible) and what better way to celebrate then ...
Music Review: The Tossers - Agony (Blogcritics.org)
Keeping the Irish spirit alive, The Tossers have released an all new album, Agony under Victory Records. Formed in the 1990's in an Irish Catholic rich neighborhood, this original punk rock Celtic Irish band was entertaining masses of drunken crowds years before Flogging Molly or the Dropkick Murphys hit the scene. Only recently catching the spotlight thanks to the popularity of the Irish, the ...
