Amazon offers 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Parliament (Audio CD),25 January, 2000
cn-Sunshine Rock 3 Funkadelic List price $11.98
Good value, but Gold is better / 3
Parliament had long funk songs so this budget album is actually around 70 minutes long. However, Parliament Gold is 2CDs and less than twice the price so I suggest you go with it instead. Gold also has the 10 minute version of Flash Light (my favorite track) instead of the 5 minute version that's on this one.
Song "Friday Night, August 14th"
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah! Hey!
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah! Hey!
Friday night, August the 14th
Old lady luck smiled down on me
My income tax return came through
I put old 47 in the ?
I know that I probably should not
Matter of fact I probably could not
Buy all the good time meant for me

But then, Friday night, gonna be a memory
You know that the whole wide world will remember me, yeah
You find a little pussycat to come and see
Then I close my eyes and I'm free??
I know that I probably should not
Matter of fact I probably could not
Buy all the good time meant for me
Yeah!
Yeah

Friday night, August the 14th
(x4)

Well, I know that I probably should not
Matter of fact, I probably could not
Buy all the good time meant for me
Yeah!

Ah-ah-ah-ah Ah! Hey!
(x8)

Hey pussycat come and see
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

There's a severe shortage of dance music for the indie nation, so Avalon was packed on Sunday with an interesting cross section of alternative teens and seasoned hipsters shaking their booties -- OK, jumping in place -- to of Montreal's ridiculously catchy and challenging pop tunes.
